A traditional school of hula perpetuating, preserving and living Hawaiian values and traditions. Critically acclaimed Hālau Nā Mamo O Pu‘uanahulu, under the direction of Nā Kumu Hula William Kahakuleilehua Haunu‘u "Sonny" Ching and Lōpaka Igarta-De Vera, is now accepting new students.

A one-time registration fee of $25.00 and the first monthʻs tuition of $55.00 is due upon registration.

Do I need to audition to be a part of the Hālau?

No, never.

How much is tuition?

$55.00 a month.
(Adults 1-1/2hr class, keiki 1hr class)

What classes are available?

Kāne (men)—ages 14yrs & up
Wahine (women)—14yrs & up
Keiki Kāne (boys)—5yrs & up
Kaikamahine (girls)—5–13yrs
Wahine Waipahē (ladies)—40–50yrs
Kūpuna – 50yrs & up

What is the class schedule?

Papa hou (all wahine/kūpuna):
Tuesdays, 7:30pm

Kāne:
Thursdays, 6:00 pm

Papa Liko Lehua (4–6yr old girls):
Saturdays, 10:00am

Papa Liko Kukui (7–12yr old girls):
Saturdays, 11:00am

When is the first tuition payment due?

First tuition payment is due at registration ($55.00).

Do I need supplies?

Yes, you will need the following:

3 Ring binder separated by oli, kahiko, ‘auana, notes,folder paper

Pen/ pencil

Tape recorder

Sweat towel

Kāne — wear a white t-shirt / white tank top

Wahine — womens tank top or womens white blouse. No oversized tops or midrift tops showing piko. No spaghetti strap tops.

Pā’ū skirt. You may either purchase your own skirt or provide material to have sewn by Hālau seamstress.
