Kumu Sonny is Liana’s uncle so she has been a part of Hālau Nā Mamo O Pu‘uanahulu since she was born. Liana has been the chosen one to carry on the hālau and its traditions—it is her kuleana to fulfill that obligation in the future.

I have been chosen as the one to carry on this Hālau and this tradition…and it is my kuleana to fulfill that obligation when the time comes.
